Tau - TISAX Certification 01

REDWOOD CITY, California - July 30, 2024 – Tau, a pioneer in software-defined power conversion, today announced that it has achieved TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) Assessment Level 3 (AL3) certification. This certification underscores Tau’s commitment to meeting the stringent information security requirements of the European, American and Asian automotive industries.

TISAX, developed by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and operated by the ENX Association, is a recognized standard for information security assessments in the automotive sector. Built on the framework of ISO/IEC 27001 — using its principles of risk management, continuous improvement, and structured security processes — the German automotive industry (via VDA) added sector-specific requirements such as handling of prototypes, third-party data exchange, and supplier security.

Achieving Assessment Level 3 (AL3) — the highest certification level audited for the handing of very sensitive and strictly confidential information (including prototypes, advanced design data, and strategic R&D) — demonstrates that Tau has implemented robust information security controls. This achievement ensures the protection of sensitive data and fostering trust with global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and partners across the supply chain.

“Securing the TISAX AL3 certification is a significant milestone for Tau as we continue to expand our presence in the European automotive market,” said Greg Stevenson, SVP of Engineering at Tau. “This achievement reflects our dedication to upholding the highest standards of information security, which is critical as we collaborate with leading OEMs and suppliers on advanced vehicle programs to accelerate and scale their electrification strategies.”

The certification reinforces Tau’s position as a trusted advanced technology partner, capable of delivering secure and scalable power conversion solutions for the automotive industry.

Tau’s software-defined power conversion platform, which offers unparalleled performance and scale, is integral to the development of next-generation powertrains. The company’s commitment to information security ensures that its innovative solutions meet the rigorous demands of OEMs and contribute to the advancement of secure and scalable mobility.
