REDWOOD CITY, Calif., 05-02-2022 -- Tau Motors, an advanced technology company that develops next-generation products for electrification, was featured on Fast Company's 2022 World Changing Ideas list with an honorable mention in the Energy category.

Tau received honors for it’s Gamma eDrive technology. Gamma is Tau’s core motor platform that reduces—and eliminates—the need for rare earth materials in machines, which are typically used to increase efficiency and power density. Rare earths are responsible for the majority of a machine's cost (40-50%) and pose significant supply and environmental concerns. In addition to benefiting both economics and supply security, Gamma also expands the operating envelope of performance to reduce energy consumption with industry leading efficiencies yielding more range for the same battery—or enabling the use of smaller batteries (and reduced cost). Gamma enables scalable and sustainable electric systems.
